CoARA Public Consultation

Public Consultation on “Improving Practices in the Assessment of Research Proposals – Discussing ways to implement ARRA commitments 1, 2 and 3 in research funding criteria, procedures and culture” open until 15th February 2026!

In the  CoARA Working Group "Improving Practices in the Assessment of Research Proposals"  research funding organisations (RFO) and organisations representing the research community from across the world came together between early 2023 and late 2025 to discuss ways of better aligning RFO assessment practices with the CoARA commitments. The results of the discussions within the WG are now available as a draft document which can be thought of as both a technical guide and a source of ideas.

Representatives of CoARA member organisations, CoARA National Chapters and CoARA Working Groups, as well as interested experts, are now invited to provide feedback on the draft document by the 15th of February 2026.

All feedback will be reviewed by the working group and considered where appropriate before the final version of the document is submitted to the CoARA steering board for approval and inclusion in the CoARA Toolbox. The survey is anonymous, but you can voluntarily provide personal information so that we can contact you if necessary. Contributions will of course be credited in the final document.

For any questions regarding the working group or its output, please contact  WG co-chairs Matteo Marenco matteo.marenco@ec.europa.eu, Matthias Kiesselbach matthias.kiesselbach@dfg.de, Anna Christa anna.christa@dfg.de or Yvonne Fors yvonne.fors@kks.se
